Staff Bios

Karen Murphy

Owner of 150 One Salon, and master stylist, Karen has been involved in the hair industry for over 25 years. She has been a successful part of fashion forward salons from Miami, Florida to Charlottetown, PEI. She is trained in and has expanded upon the cutting and coloring techniques of Goldwell, Bumble and Bumble, Toni and Guy, Aveda and many more. Currently she is working towards becoming Prince Edward Island’s very first Deva Curl Specialist. Karen has a tremendous passion for the hair industry and is thrilled to do something she loves while mentoring the next generation of world class hair stylists. She loves meeting new people and educating them on the health and wellness of beauty.

Brittany MacMillan

Brittany graduated from the Private Institute of Hair Design and Aesthetics in 2009, and specializes in blondes and extensions. Brittany is a strong proponent of extensions after wearing them for years herself, and is happy to share her experience and training with her clients. Brittany also has a loyal following of blonde clientele. Brittany stays up to date with hair coloring and cutting courses and takes updo classes to ensure her bridal party clients have the most stylish looks. It’s important that her clients focus on positivity and confidence to go along with a great style or cut and her favorite moment on the job is seeing a guest leave with a smile on their face. One of Brittany’s greatest passions is travelling to Haiti every year to do volunteer and mission work. She lives in Charlottetown with her fiancé, and her Bernese Mountain dog, Ruby, and enjoys this beautiful Island.

We are located in the heart of Downtown Charlottetown, in a very cool space overlooking the Confederaton Centre of the Arts.
